  2. 2. After ~5 minutes, look for a left turn — the trail to Lauke Jharna begins here

  4. 4. Hiking from the resort takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours
💧
About Lauke Jharna
One of the most visited waterfalls near Kathmandu, Lauke Jharna is actually two separate falls — Thulo Chahare and Sano Chahare — connected by a short forest trail.
THULO CHAHARE
The larger of the two falls — tall, powerful, and especially dramatic during monsoon (June–September). The trail opens to a natural swimming pool before the falls — cold, clear, and free to use. A short two-minute climb above the pool leads to the best viewpoint, with a wooden bridge that perfectly frames the waterfall.
SANO CHAHARE
A 10–15 minute uphill walk from the trail junction. Smaller and quieter than Thulo Chahare, but worth every step. A large flat rock at the viewpoint has become a favourite photo spot.
🥾
Before You Go
Best visited between October and May — monsoon months make trails slippery
Bring enough water for a 2–3 hour round trip
Wear grip footwear — the trail is rocky and steep in sections
A local guide can be arranged — ask at reception the evening before
The natural pool at Thulo Chahare is safe to swim in during dry season
